My main fantasy football league is a 10-team PPR league so that is the standard I use since it’s where I find myself most knowledgeable.
This article is 3 guys that I like that aren’t projected to be starters according to the Expert Consensus Ranking on Fantasy Pros (https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/rankings/ppr-rb.php) and vice versa so the line is like this:
RB1 or RB2 (Top 20)
WR1 or WR2 (Top 20)
TE1 (Top 10)
QB1 (Top 10)
3 GUYS EVERY ONE LIKES IN WEEK 3 THAT I DON’T
- Le’Veon Bell (Currently 9th Ranked RB on ECR)
The Patriots are going to make Luke Falk beat them which means they are going to try to eliminate Le’Veon Bell altogether. The Jets other offensive players haven’t been that impressive outside of Bell so far so targeting him and putting it on the other skill position players to perform makes sense. Also, the Jets are going to be playing from behind if the Vegas spread is anything close to what really plays out so they will be passing upfield. Bill Belichick is going to come up with a game plan that confuses the Jets young QB and stunts the offense as a whole.
- Sammy Watkins (Currently 9th Ranked WR on ECR)
I just don’t think Watkins can be consistently good. He hasn’t even been previously in his career so I would be surprised if he starts now especially with Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman becoming viable fantasy receiver options. I know any given receiver can be effective in this Chiefs offense, but I’m just saying it likely won’t be Sammy Watkins.
- O.J. Howard (Current 9th Ranked TE on ECR)
O.J. Howard is off this season. I don’t see him bouncing back in a consistently productive way. Even playing against a Giants D that is struggling and lacks overall talent shouldn’t change Howard’s production to suddenly be something significant as there are plenty of better options on the offensive side of the ball for the Buccaneers to outplay this bad Giants team. Until Howard can show me otherwise, I’m staying away.
